Matthew 25: 14-30 is about, "The Parable of Talents."
-
A parable is a vision or illustration.
-
Talents represent a block of money.
-
We have a choice to be like the two men that had an increase of talents or like the one that buried his talent in the ground and did nothing with his talent.
A man traveling, called his servants and gave them his wealth.
Three servants
Man
To one he gave five bags of gold.
To another he gave two bags of gold.
To another he gave one bag of gold.
"After a long time, the master of the servants returned and settled accounts with them!"
"Both the man with the five bags of gold and the one with the two bags had gone to work!"
The man that received the five bags of gold gained five bags more.
= 10
The man that received the two bags of gold gained two bags more.
= 4
To the two he said, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.
The man with one bag of gold, had dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
The man with one bag of gold got nothing because of fear.
= 1
The master said, "You knew I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? You should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so I would have received interest.
Matthew 25: 28-30
So, take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Place for lazy slaves is in outer darkness
